Visual Storytelling
It is important to understand the value of using images in movie or animated format. Visual storytelling comes alive with the help of video editing applications, like iMovie and FinalCutPro. An excerpt from David Considine's book, Critical Viewing and Critical Thinking Skills states that visual literacy is the practice of reading pictures by thinking critically (Considine). Students who engage in watching videos and television will evidently acquire knowledge if they are able to connect scenes to see the big picture. This leads many to believe that visual storytelling serves as an essential digital resource for visual literacy. Visual storytelling greatly impacts teaching and learning in the 21st century classroom.
