Participants should grab the following upon entering the workshop: Refreshments Folder with surveys, handouts, and resources needed Pen and Post-It Notes Participants should complete survey #1 while enjoying their refreshments and socializing with others. Introduction: - Facilitator will introduce herself and make sure each participant received handouts. - Ice Breaker Activity: Say your name and share 1-2 ways that you use your iPad in the classroom. Facilitator will record responses on a chart. - Facilitator will identify the purpose, goals, and expected outcomes of the workshop. - Facilitator will explain the workshop schedule.

Participants will work in table groups to brainstorm and create a mini-lesson based on a pre-selected science-related photo story. Their mini-lesson should provide opportunities for their students to develop visual literacy skills by reading the photograph.

Participants will choose a social studies standard they are currently teaching or will teach in the near future. They will create an educational storyboard with 6 panels, characters, settings, and words. The story board must address the social studies standard selected. A rubric will be provided for this assessment. A rubric will be provided for this activity.
